The Denim & Casual landscape never ceases to amaze, and also becomes the main player for Spring / Summer 2011, with an ever more advanced horizon of proposals, both technologically and stylistically. Technology, exactly that, because after years of research, denim now models itself to the body with three-dimensional perfection, creating clothing of exceptional architectural tailoring. In the case of the trousers, especially for men, the side seams curve and the inner seams allow for the natural shape of the leg to be followed to create a 3D effect on the knee the crotch is low, even if the cut is elegant and ankle is almost always on show to reflect the mood of the season. The workmanship in the jackets and shirts is also fantastic and the attention to detail high, thanks to the hand finishing that highlight the contrast between new and faded, as in the beautiful coats of Just Cavalli. G-Star remains among the leaders in the clothing sector by offering luxury, yet at the same time functionality, a distinctive denim created very precisely and without sacrifice. Characterising the collections for both men and woman in the next hot season, a mix of vintage influences with contemporary urban and metropolitan accents that make each piece a unique piece of design. Exemplary in this sense, the blouse of Rag & Bone or jacket with a mandarin collar by G-Star. A common feature of denim seen on the catwalk is the high quality for both the unwashed and for those which undergo a complex series of washes, the trench coat and shorts by Just Cavalli are ultra-bleached. For women, the dresses, shirts, skirts are enhanced by the vintage and equestrian details, painted by hand, but also visible stitching and natural whashed-out patches obtained through drying processes or fading in the sun, to reflect the worn look of a garment that has been owned for some time. The casual scene for the man is a wonder in the colourful prints of Ana Locking and in the highly-visible suits by Jean-Charles De Castelbajac. The success of leather continues with very short slim-fit jackets. The most interesting, whimsical collection is that of Ion Fiz.
